Madison and St. Clair counties are top two asbestos jurisdictions in U.S., report shows

Last year's national asbestos litigation landscape didn't show any drastic changes in overall filings. The numbers remained stable with a high concentration of cases filed by the top plaintiff firms within the top jurisdictions against the same defendants, according to the annual findings of KCIC, a Washington-based technology and consulting firm that analyzes approximately 90 percent of all asbestos cases filed nationwide.

EDWARDSVILLE - Buyers of a property are claiming their realtors failed to disclosed plumbing problems that cost more than $20,000 to fix so far.Stephanie and Jonathan Clark filed suit March 11 against the RE/MAX Aliance and individual agents they claim were involving in the sale of the home in Troy.In their suit filed in Madison County Circuit, the couple claim fraudulent misrepresentation and concealment along with violations of the Illinois Property Disclosure Act and negligence.RE/MAX is a franchisor and each of its offices is independently owned, the company told the Madison Record.The suit centers on the purchase of a property on Joe McClelland Drive.
