Illinois has the worst manufacturing jobs recovery from the Great Recession of any neighboring state, according to data released in October by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, or BLS.
Barberis announces bid for Fifth District vacancy; Likely to face Bleyer seeking Stewart seat
Madison County Circuit Judge John Barberis, Jr. has announced that he will run for an open seat at the Fifth District Appellate Court in November 2016. Barberis will be running as a Republican candidate for the seat being vacated by Justice Bruce Stewart who announced he would retire after his current term expires.

Woodbridge woman sues man alleging unpaid loan
A Woodbridge woman is suing an East St. Louis man over claims of failure to pay an owed debt. Bridget Lanier filed a lawsuit on Sep. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Lawrence Wood, alleging that Wood has failed to pay a large debt owed to Lanier for a loan. According to the claim, on Sep. 23, 2014 a loan was made from Lanier to Wood in the amount of $85,342.00.
Holland Construction sued following traffic accident
A St. Clair County woman and a passenger in her vehicle are suing the owner of construction company for negligence in a car crash involving his company car. Rita Curtis and Charles Bailey filed a lawsuit Oct. 8 in St. Clair County’s 20th Judicial Circuit Court against Bruce Holland and Holland Construction Services Inc.
