A male motorist filed suit over injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle collision. George Shook filed the suit Oct. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court against Matthew Barnes. On Sept. 4, 2015, the plaintiff was driving on Illinois Highway 148 near an intersection.
Man sues former employer for alleged age discrimination
A man is filing a suit against his former employer in the wake of his termination. Michael Barry filed the suit Oct. 27 in Madison County Circuit Court against Schenker Logistics, Glenn McKeithan and Lee Sininger. In October 2011, plaintiff began working for Schenker as Transportation Operations Manager.

A woman is suing because she was terminated without undergoing the contractual provision of progressive discipline. Mary Neudecker filed the suit Nov. 3 in Madison County District Court against Scott Credit Union. The plaintiff was hired to work at the defendant's Highland location on Oct. 27, 2003.
Woman sues over husband's asbestos exposure
A Madison County woman is suing over chemicals her former husband worked with that she says caused his premature death. Joan Green, on behalf of the estate of Thomas Green filed the suit Nov. 3 in Madison County District Court against 3M Company, Apex Oil Company, Clark Oil & Refining Company, Premcor Refining Group, Radiator Specialty Company, Safety-Kleen Corporation, Safety-Kleen Systems, Turtle Wax Inc., and U.S.
Passenger alleges injuries from rear-end collision
A Granite City man is suing over injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Justin Valenzuela filed the suit Nov. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Oddriea Bazzell. On Jan. 12, 2015, the suit claims, the plaintiff was a passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended by defendant Bazzell.

Washington Park bar claims employee acted in self-defense in assault suit
A Washington Park bar claims one of its employees was acting in self-defense after a patron attempted to attack him with a knife. Patron Tom Hornbeak filed a lawsuit on Aug. 10 against STMP Entertainment, doing business as Blondies, and employee Danny McNatt. Hornbeak claims he was at Blondies on June 23, 2014, when McNatt allegedly punched him in the fact, causing him to suffer facial fractures.
Belleville nursing home denies liability in wrongful death suit
A Belleville nursing home denies liability in a wrongful death suit alleging neglect led to a patient’s death. Wilbur Meyer Jr., executor of the estate of Dolores Ervin, filed a lawsuit on July 16 against Protestant Memorial Medical Center, doing business as Memorial Care Center, alleging negligence under the Nursing Home Care Act. According to the complaint, the decedent suffered a hip fracture on June 9, 2013.
