BELLEVILLE — A patient claims she was injured while being transported to get her Covid-19 vaccine.

Georgina R. Francis, as attorney in fact for Gloria Francis, filed a complaint in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Lebanon HCO, LLC doing business as Lebanon Care Center, and others alleging negligence and other claims.

According to the plaintiff's complaint, Gloria Francis was a resident at Lebanon Care Center nursing home in Alton from August 2022 through November 2022. She claims Francis, who was wheelchair bound, was not properly secured into a handicapped accessible vehicle while being transported to get a Covid booster shot. The plaintiff alleges that when the van driver applied the brakes, Francis fell forward and struck her head on the interior of the van.

She further claims the defendants failed to provide Gloria Francis with necessary care, supervision and assistance, which also caused her to suffer a fall while residing at Lebanon Care Center. The plaintiff claims the defendants also failed to complete and maintain written reports regarding Francis' fall and caused her to suffer neglect from improper medical and personal care.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief.
