SPRINGFIELD – Tom Keefe’s firm in Swansea and the Gori firm of Edwardsville each contributed $151,000 to All for Justice, an independent committee supporting a pair of Democrats for the Illinois Supreme Court, on Sept. 23.

David Cates’s firm in Swansea contributed $28,000.

The Chicago firms of Levin and Perconti, Corboy and Demetrio, and Taxman Pollock each contributed $76,000.

All for Justice, which was formed in August for the purpose of electing supreme court justices "who support justice," has raised more than $2 million in about six weeks.

On Sept. 12, the laborers union contributed $200,000.

On Sept. 14, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees contributed $225,000.

On Sept. 19, a group calling itself Fair Fight contributed $500,000.

The state elections board has no information on Fair Fight except a post office box number in LaGrange.

Groups that contribute to independent committees in Illinois don’t have to register as campaign committees.

An online search locates Fair Fight in Georgia and identifies it as an affiliate of Act Blue, a Democratic Party operation.

On Sept. 21, Illinois Education Association contributed $100,000 to All for Justice.

On Sept. 22, the campaign committee of Senate president Don Harmon transferred $500,000 to All for Justice.

The group supports Elizabeth Rochford in the Second Judicial District, which includes Chicago suburbs outside Cook County.

She opposes Republican candidate Mark Curran.

The group also supports Mary O’Brien in the Third District, which includes Chicago suburbs outside Cook County and a small rural region.

She opposes Republican candidate Michael Burke, who holds a seat on the Supreme Court by appointment.
