Soros money funding Cates campaign for Illinois Supreme Court

Campaigns & Elections

NEW YORK CITY – Jonathan Soros, son of Democratic Party pillar George Soros, and wife Jennifer Soros each contributed $500 to the Supreme Court campaign of appellate court judge Judy Cates in July.

Their contributions appeared on a quarterly report Cates sent to the state election board on Oct. 15.

They gave an address on Greenwich Avenue in New York.

Jonathan Soros had previously supported a single Illinois candidate, contributing $105,000 to former legislator Daniel Biss in 2018.

Jennifer Soros had not previously contributed to any Illinois candidate.

In 2016, George Soros gave $408,000 to an independent committee that supported current Cook County state’s attorney Kim Foxx.

The billionaire George Soros, who supports progressive and liberal candidates and causes, has funneled nearly $70 million into the 2020 elections, tripling his previous record, according to an Oct. 15 report by Washington Free Beacon.
