Car accident 23

BELLEVILLE — A man is suing a truck driver for allegedly causing a collision while in stop-and-go traffic.

Genvenson Villavicencio filed a complaint on Sept. 24, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Richard J. Hillesheim alleging that the truck driver failed to exercise reasonable care and caution while operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 2, 2016, he was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 truck on Thouvenot Lane at or near its intersection with Cedarwood Trail. He claims he was in stop-and-go traffic when the defendant negligently crashed his truck into the plaintiff's vehicle.

He sustained permanent injuries, partial disability, pain, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Hillesheim responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper control of his truck and failed to maintain a proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by Jack A. Strellis of Strellis & Field Chartered in Waterloo.
