Car accident 27

BELLEVILLE — A woman is suing a driver for allegedly causing a crash on Old Collinsville Road.

Beth Lidisky filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Frederick Hoef, alleging the driver violated the Illinois Vehicle Code by driving his vehicle while intoxicated.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 26, 2016, both parties were operating their vehicles on Old Collinsville Road at or near its intersection with William Lane Street when the defendant rear-ended her vehicle.

She claims she was severely injured, disabled and disfigured.

The plaintiff holds Hoef responsible because the defendant allegedly breached his duty to operate his vehicle in a careful and prudent manner, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to use precautions to avoid an accident.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, and all further relief that the court may deem proper and equitable. She is represented by John Hipskind of Hipskind & McAninch LLC in Belleville.
