Medical service providers suing plan administrator for alleged breach of contract

BELLEVILLE — Medical service providers are suing Meridian Health Plan of Illinois Inc., a plan administrator, citing alleged common law fraud.

Center for Gastrointestinal Health SC, et al filed a complaint on April 5, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Meridian Health Plan of Illinois Inc. alleging that the plan administrator failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that between 2015 and 2017, Center for Gastrointestinal Health SC, and others provided medical services to defendants' enrolled members in exchange for compensation. To date, certain claims for compensation for plaintiffs services remain unpaid, the suit claims. 

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in their favor, in the amount of not less than $503,744, attorney fees, cost and expenses and all other additional relief that are proper and just. They are represented by Sean Murley of Fairview Heights.
