EDWARDSVILLE — A mother is suing two drivers for allegedly causing a fatal crash in Alton.

April Gray, special representative of the estate of Trinity Buel, filed a complaint March 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Devon L. Willis and Jamie N. Burgos, alleging they failed to operate their motor vehicles in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 17, Buel was a passenger in her 1995 Jeep Cherokee driven by Willis when Burgos' vehicle caused a collision. Buel was seriously injured and died as a result, the suit states.

Gray alleges Willis and Burgos failed to maintain a careful lookout, failed to yield to the right of way and failed to take evasive actions to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, in an amount of not less than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

She is represented by Lanny Darr of Darr Law Offices Ltd. in Alton and Shawn K. Lintz of Lintz Law Firm in Alton.
