Passenger alleges injuries from icy bus crash

Car accident 31

EDWARDSVILLE — A passenger is suing a bus owner and motorist for allegedly causing a collision in icy conditions.

Lee Harris filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Madison County Mass Transit District and Daphene McCluskey, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 16, 2016, she suffered injuries when the bus was involved in a collision.

As a result, Harris claims she suffered great pain and mental anguish and was obligated to pay medical care and treatment expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to take sufficient precautions when they knew or should have known that the road condition was icy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this action.

He is represented by H. Kent Heller of Heller, Holmes & Associates PC in Mattoon.
