BELLEVILLE – A patient alleges he was injured when the ambulance he was being transported in crashed on Interstate 64 in St. Clair County.

Isaiah M. Sampson, 18, filed a complaint on Nov. 3 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against the city of O'Fallon, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 11, 2015, he was being transported along with his cousin in an ambulance being operated by O'Fallon Shiloh Emergency Medical Services when it ran off Interstate 64 and struck a tree.

As a result of the crash, Sampson alleges he sustained injuries.

The plaintiff alleges the city of O'Fallon's employee carelessly drove the ambulance at a speed greater than reasonable in heavy rain conditions.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, costs of this action and any further relief as the court may deem necessary.

He is represented by Jeremy A. Gogel of The Gogel Law Firm in St. Louis.
