EDWARDSVILLE – A man alleges that he was subjected to unwanted sexual advances by a yoga instructor.
John Doe filed a complaint on Oct. 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jeremy Henkhaus and Bridget Brasfield, formerly doing business as Edwardsville Hot Yoga, alleging that they violated the Gender Violence Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at Edwardsville Hot Yoga on Oct. 20, Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, 2012. The suit states that Henkhaus was the yoga instructor on all three occasions. The plaintiff alleges that Henkhaus made unwanted sexual advances toward him on those three dates and unwanted physical contact on Nov. 10, 2012.
The plaintiff alleges that as a result of these alleged incidents, he has lost employment, has required and will continue to require mental counseling and has incurred bills for the counseling.
The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages of more than $50,000, plus punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs and any other lawful relief as the court may allow. He is represented by Brian M. Wendler, Angie Zinzeleita and Paul E.H. Radenacher of Wendler Law PC in Edwardsville.
