Casino Queen patron claims employee struck her on head with a glass

In recently filed court documents, a woman claims she has suffered severe headaches after a casino employee struck her in the head with a glass.

Carina Clemons filed a lawsuit May 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Casino Queen.

In her complaint, Clemons alleges she had visited Casino Queen on June 18, 2011, and was sitting at the bar when the employee struck her in the head with a glass.

Because of the incident, Clemons suffered immediate pain, swelling, tightness and pain to the left side of her neck and the top of her left shoulder, according to the complaint. Since then, she has dealt with migraines, post-traumatic headaches, tension headaches, spasms, contusions and compression of her nerves, the suit states.

Due to her injuries, Clemons has experienced disability and disfigurement and has been forced to undergo medical treatment, the complaint says.

Clemons seeks a judgment of less than $50,000, plus costs.

Michael A. Lawder of Anderson and Gilbert will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-233.
