A Hartford oil carrier company is being sued after one of its drivers allegedly rear-ended a Missouri Department of Transportation truck on I-70.
Brian Heintzelman filed a lawsuit Jan. 10 in Madison Count Circuit Court against Mark Schutzbach and Piasa Oils Transport LLC.
Heintzelman says he was working for the Missouri DOT in April 2011. He was driving an International Workstar truck west on Interstate 70, according to the complaint. Near the intersection of Missouri Highway 94 Heintzelman says the attenuator on the back of his truck was hit by a Piasa Oil truck being driven by Schutzbach.
Heintzelman, whose back was allegedly hurt in the crash, accuses Schutzbach of negligence and claims Piasa Oil is liable for his injuries. He asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court costs.
Attorney Lanny Darr of Alton represents Heintzelman.
