Metrolink doors closed too soon, woman claims in suit

A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against Metrolink, alleging her shoulder, neck and back were injured when a Metrolink employee closed a light rail train's doors as she was exiting.

Deborah J. Murray was attempting to leave the light rail train on Nov. 21, 2007, when its doors closed on her, according to the complaint filed Nov. 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Murray claims Metrolink, acting through its employee, was negligent when the employee closed the doors too soon and when the employee should have known Murray was exiting the vehicle.

Metrolink also failed to properly train its employees, the suit states.

Murray is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs and other relief available.

Murray is representing herself.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-598.
