McDonald's sued for slip and fall on dirty water

Catherine Lott filed suit on behalf of her pregnant daughter, Quenetta, who slipped and fell on dirty water in the entranceway of a McDonald's restaurant on Morrison Street in Collinsville.

According to the suit filed against McDonald's June 3 in Madison County Circuit Court, Lott is seeking at least $50,000 damages for injuries Quenetta, a minor, and her unborn child sustained on Jan. 28, 2004.

Lott claims McDonald's is negligent for failing to clean up water that accumulated and tracked into the premises and failed to post warning signs when the restaurant knew the water posed a danger to patrons.

The suit alleges Quenetta became liable for medical expenses and suffered mental anguish and great pain.

Lott is represented by Steven Katzman of Belleville.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Philip Kardis in Granite City.
