A Belleville woman is suing Aldi Inc. claiming injuries after slipping on a foreign substance last year at a Swansea store.
Cathy Morgan filed suit Feb. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court over an incident she claims took place Aug. 29, 2014.
According to the complaint, the business was remiss by allowing the substance to remain on the premises, by failing to clean the area and dispose of the substance properly and in failing to warn patrons of the hazard by posting signs or cordoning off the area.
Claiming loss of a normal life, Morgan is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. She is being represented by Jon Rosenstengel of Bonifield & Rosenstengel in Belleville.
