Man claims excessive force used during arrest

BELLEVILLE – A citizen is suing a police officer and a municipality over alleged use of excessive force preceding his arrest. Anthony Thomas filed the suit March 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Officer Antwan Stith and the Village of Washington Park, which employs Stith.
