A Madison County woman filed a lawsuit against a motorist regarding a 2014 automobile accident in Missouri. Tricia Gall of Troy filed a lawsuit July 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Mark Dycus, also of Troy, claiming vehicular negligence in an August 2013 highway collision.

Couple sues insurance firm for alleged fraud

A St. Clair County couple filed a lawsuit against a financial company regarding a 2014 contractual matter, claiming fraud and misrepresentation. Gene Hyatt and Ho Ann Hyatt of Fairview Heights filed a complaint July 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Genworth Financial alleging breach of contract in a December 2014 insurance dispute. According to the filing, the plaintiffs entered into a contract with the defendant for an insurance policy prior to Nov. 19, 2001.

An auction house and owner claim a patron’s own negligence caused his alleged injuries when a folding chair he was sitting in collapsed beneath him. According to the complaint, the plaintiff was on the defendant’s premises, located at 7135 Grand Avenue in Granite City, on or about May 2, 2014. Orasco claims he allegedly sustained injuries when he sat in the defendant’s folding chair and it collapsed.
