EDWARDSVILLE - A lawsuit alleges a motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in a Godfrey crash.

The lawsuit was flied in the Madison County Circuit Court by Monica Dean, as representative for Andere Millender, deceased, against Margaret Friedel.

According to the complaint, Friedel was driving her vehicle on Feb. 4, 2024, when she negligently crashed into Millender's motorcycle on West Delmar Avenue near its intersection with Pierce Lane around 11:57 a.m.

The plaintiff alleges Friedel failed to operate her vehicle in a reasonable manner, failed to maintain a proper lookout and failed to use every precaution to avoid a collision, which led to Millender's death.

The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for pecuniary loss, funeral expenses, consortium, companionship, comfort, instruction, guidance, counsel, training and support. She is represented by attorney Brady McAninch of Hipskind & McAninch LLC.
