EDWARDSVILLE - An Alton business is suing a motorist for allegedly crashing into its building.

The lawsuit was filed by Med Resources Inc. in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendants Kathyrn J. Cousley and Mark Cousley.

According to the complaint, Kathyrn Cousley was allegedly driving a 2020 Dodge Charger when she crossed over a double yellow line and crashed into the building of Med Resources in Alton on Aug. 6, 2023.

The plaintiff claims it suffered losses due to damaged inventory, lost contents, loss of revenue and additional expenses amounting to over $90,000. Attempts were made by the law firms of Schueler, Davallo & Casieri and Minana & Associates to resolve the damages with Kathryn Cousley and her automobile liability carrier State Farm without court involvement but were unsuccessful. The case is now proceeding under allegations of negligence.

Med Resources seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. It is represented by attorney Fredrick Ludwig of St. Louis.
