EDWARDSVILLE - A woman claims her insurer wrongfully denied coverage after her motorhome was vandalized.

A lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Pamela Sheppard, doing business as Inkredible T's, against Pekin Insurance Company.

The case revolves around a motorhome owned by Sheppard that she claims was vandalized and resulted in a total loss. Despite having an insurance policy that covered such incidents, Pekin Insurance Company has allegedly refused to provide coverage for the damage.

Sheppard purchased the policy through Zimmerman Insurance Agency, which is authorized to sell Pekin Insurance policies. The policy’s “Business Auto Coverage Form” includes provision for losses caused by mischief.

Sheppard argues that Pekin's refusal to provide coverage contradicts the provisions of its policy and constitutes a breach of contract. She is seeking judgment in her favor and against Pekin Insurance Company for an amount exceeding $50,000, including attorney’s fees incurred. The case is being represented by attorney Kevin J. Babb.
