St. Clair County Circuit Judge Heinz Rudolf was awarded the Presidential Service Award by the Illinois Judges Association at the annual convention on Dec. 8.

Rudolf received the award for his outreach to local students and schools, where he discusses important topics relating to their present and always-changing technological world.

“I am honored to have been selected by Illinois Supreme Court Justice David Overstreet as one of the recipients of the Illinois Judges Association’s Presidential Service Award,” Rudolf said. “Our Regional Office of Education has been instrumental in our efforts to get into the schools to speak directly to students on the personal and legal pitfalls of improper social media use.”

Chief Judge Andrew Gleeson commended Rudolf on his work with students.

“I am proud of the efforts Judge Rudolf and all of my judicial colleagues for the outreach in our community on a myriad of issues,” Gleeson said. “The St. CLair County judiciary will continue to expand its outreach efforts in addressing and answering questions from students regarding responsible social media use.”
