Fairview Heights attorney Maurche’ H. Belk has been selected to serve as an Associate Judge in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Chief Judge Andrew Gleeson announced Belk’s selection on Sept. 5.

“The judiciary of St. Clair County is excited to have Ms. Belk as the next Associate Judge,” he stated. “Her passion for the law and her varied legal experience make her an excellent choice.”

Belk is currently working with the Sandifer and Associates law firm in Fairview Heights.

She then moved back home to St. Clair County and briefly opened her own firm before working as an Assistant Public Defender with the St. Clair County Public Defender’s Office. She handled juvenile cases as well as misdemeanors and several types of felony cases.

She joined Sandifer and Associates in January 2019.
