St. Clair County Chief Judge Andrew Gleeson announced Thursday that Belleville attorney Sara L. Rice has been appointed as an associate judge, filling the vacancy left by Judge Patricia Kievlan’s retirement.
“The judiciary of St. Clair County is pleased to have a lawyer of Ms. Rice’s caliber join the ranks of an already outstanding group of jurists,” Gleeson stated.
Rice is currently affiliated with the Wilson Dabler and Associates law firm in Belleville. She focuses on domestic litigation, wills and powers of attorney and criminal defense.
Rice graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign in 2009 with bachelor’s in psychology. She earned her J.D. from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in 2012.
She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, St. Clair Bar Association, Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Junior Service Club of St. Clair County and Young Lawyer’s Committee, serving as president in 2015.
