EDWARDSVILLE – A crane operator has filed a lawsuit against Anderson Construction after a wall fell on him while he was putting up roof trusses in Troy.

Plaintiff Timothy L. Dunham filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Rehkemer & Sons, Inc. and Anderson Construction, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Dunham is a crane operator and was hired by Anderson Construction to work on a property in Troy to put up roof trusses. Dunham claims that on Aug. 9, 2021, while he was working, a wall collapsed, striking his crane and causing him to suffer extensive injuries.

The plaintiff accuses Anderson of negligence for failing to build a support wall down the middle of the structure for roof trusses, providing roof trusses that were too long to be installed safely, and failing to warn him of the danger of installing the trusses.

Rehkemer & Sons, Inc. is named in the lawsuit for failing to advise Anderson of the need to build the support wall.

Dunham claims his injuries will require medical treatment, which has caused him to incur medical expenses. He claims he will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover. Dunham also alleges he has experienced pain, suffering and disability, and that his injuries will affect his ability to earn income and enjoy life in the future.

The plaintiff is seeking damages and is represented in this case by attorney Laura A. Cole of Smith, Mendenhall, Selby & Cole in Alton.
