St. Clair County Associate Judge Julie Katz was selected to serve as treasurer of the Illinois Judges Association.
Katz was installed to her new position at the annual meeting on June 3.
She has been a judge at the St. Clair County Circuit Court for more than 11 years. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, St. Clair County Bar Association and Illinois Judges Association.
Katz also serves on the Illinois Judicial College Committee on Judicial Education, the Illinois State Bar’s Task Force on the Unauthorized Practice of Law, and the Illinois State Bar Association’s Bench and Bar Section Council.
Additionally, Katz is the chair of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit’s Pro Bono Committee.
The Illinois Judges Association represents 1,250 active and retired Illinois state court judges. It was founded in 1972 to provide services, support and education to its member judges and raise public understanding of the Illinois judicial system.
Officers selected for 2022-23 at the annual meeting included First District Appellate Justice Eileen O’Neill Burke as president, Illinois Supreme Court Justice David Overstreet as first vice president, Cook County Judge Mary Colleen Roberts as second vice president, Lake County Judge Elizabeth Rochford as third vice president, Cook County Judge Patrice Ball Reed as secretary and Katz as treasurer.
