EDWARDSVILLE - A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a head-on collision.

Ronnie Andrews filed a lawsuit on Feb. 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Tristen Davis, alleging personal injury and negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Andrews was driving northbound on Johnson Road as Davis was driving southbound on Johnson Road on Jan. 15. As they were passing each other, Andrews alleges Davis crossed the center line of the roadway and struck the plaintiff's vehicle head-on.

Andrews alleges Davis was negligent in failing to maintain his vehicle in his dedicated lane of travel, driving the vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable and proper, failing to drive on the right side of the highway, failing to slow down, failing to keep a lookout for other vehicles, driving while distracted and other acts of negligence.

Andrews claims he was caused to suffer both temporary and permanent injuries, medical and hospital bills to treat injuries and prevention in attending his usual duties and affairs.

Andrews seeks a sum in excess of $50,000, plus cost of suit. He is represented by Lanny Darr of Darr Law Offices in Alton.
