Judge Harrison to step down in December; Applications for vacancy due Nov. 29

Associate Judge Clarence Harrison will be stepping down Dec. 10, according to an announcement by Madison County Chief Judge Bill Mudge.

Harrison has served as an associate judge since 1999.

The release issued by Mudge's office Wednesday afternoon provided notice of judicial vacancy, with applications for the seat due to the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts on Nov. 29. Applicants must reside in the Third Judicial Circuit, which includes Bond and Madison counties.

Harrison, a Democrat, is the son of late Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Moses Harrison II. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Southern Methodist University in Texas.
