EDWARDSVILLE — Bethalto-based Mayfield Medical Services is accused of owing more than $54,000 for medical equipment and supplies.

Almo Corporation filed a complaint July 2 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mayfield Medical Services Inc.

Almo claims in its suit that it entered into a credit agreement with Mayfield Medical for the purchase of medical equipment. The plaintiff alleges that as of July 2, Mayfield Medical owes $54,000 for the equipment and $19,224 in accrued interest and refuses to pay the balance in full.

Almo also alleges per its credit and customer agreement with Mayfield Medical, the defendant continues to accrue interest at a rate of 18% per annum from July 3 "through the date of judgement." The plaintiff also claims it is entitled to $5,500 in reasonable attorney fees due to Mayfield Medical's refusal to pay for the equipment.

Almo seeks monetary and all other just relief. They are represented by Kara Lechien of The Law Offices of LeChien & Waltrip PC in Belleville.
