Belleville woman alleges injuries from dog in unprovoked attack

Lawsuits

BELLEVILLE — A Belleville woman is suing the owners of a dog that allegedly attacked her while she was on her own property, causing her to suffer injuries.

Kathy Papish filed a pro se complaint March 19 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Tyler Cox and Lindsey Wold-Mcintyre, alleging violation of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

Papish claims in her suit that on Jan. 9, she was outside her home on Hillwood Drive in Belleville when she suffered an unprovoked attack by the defendants' dog. She alleges that as a result of the attack, she suffered pain, disability and disfigurement. She also claims she has incurred medical expenses. Papish claims she was "lawfully on her own property" when she was attacked by the defendants' dog and that the defendants are in violation of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

Papish seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief.
