Schuette appointed to ISBA councils

Attorneys & Judges

Madison County Associate Judge Maureen Schuette has been appointed a member of two committees with the Illinois State Bar Association.

She was appointed to the ISBA Family Law Section Council and the ISBA Bench and Bar Section Council.

“I am honored to be appointed to these two committees that are so highly regarded,” she stated.

Schuette was previously a panel member in late June on a presentation for the ISBA Family Law Section Council to discuss issues regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on family law. The Zoom presentation was the first of its kind for the Family Law Section Council.

Schuette was appointed an associate judge in October 2015.

She currently presides over the Family Division in Madison County.

She also serves on the Illinois Supreme Court Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee.

The ISBA has 28,000 members with offices in Springfield and Chicago. It provides services to Illinois lawyers and the courts. It also provides education and services to the public.

ISBA sections provide continuing education and legislative services to lawyers who practice in a specific area of law. Each section is governed by a council appointed by the state bar president.
