BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County woman is suing an East St. Louis public skate park where she claims she slipped and fell on a wet portion of the concrete rink.
Delphine Brooks filed a complaint April 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Skate City Inc., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Brooks was at Skate City located at 2200 East Broadway in East St. Louis on July 13, 2018. The suit states Brooks suffered severe injuries and pain when she slipped and fell on a wet portion of the concrete rink.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant's employees knew there was moisture on the rink's surface prior to her fall but did nothing to remedy the hazard or warn Brooks of the danger.
Brooks seeks relief in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Matthew P. Young of Belleville.
