Former BJC employee sues over alleged age discrimination

BELLEVILLE – A woman recently filed a lawsuit against BJC Healthcare, claiming she was fired from her job at due to her age.

Lynn Bauman filed a complaint March 1 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against BJC Healthcare/Belleville Memorial Hospital and Jan Greenwood alleging violations of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, retaliation due to age and intentional interference with economic advantage, 

Bauman was a BJC employee and alleges she was terminated from her employment even though she performed her job in accordance with the expectations. She claims she was discriminated against due to her age and subjected to a hostile work environment and harassment. 

Bauman is seeking compensation in excess of $50,000, costs of the suit and other relief deemed fit. She is represented by Michael J. Brunton of Brunton Law Office P.C. in Collinsville.
