EDWARDSVILLE — An Edwardsville man is suing an Iowa man for allegedly assaulting him and repeatedly hitting him in the face.
John Muldoon filed a complaint on Feb. 25 in Madison County Circuit Court against Karsten Van Velsor of Ottumwa, Iowa,, alleging assault, battery and negligence.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 21, 2018, Muldoon was at 30 Devon Court in Edwardsville when he was assaulted by Van Velsor. Muldoon alleges the defendant punched and kneed him in the face, resulting in injuries to Muldoon's eye, a concussion and shock to his nervous system.
Muldoon seeks more than $50,000 in damages, plus all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Bryan R. Kalb of Byron, Carlson, Petri & Kalb LLC in Edwardsville.
