EDWARDSVILLE — A Wood River motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end crash.

Patsy Boyd filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Ryan Brodecker, alleging he failed to exercise reasonable care and caution while operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, Boyd alleges that on March 21, 2017, she was operating her vehicle traveling southbound. She claims she was stopped on the Broadway Connector near its intersection with Landmarks Boulevard when Brodecker struck her vehicle from the rear.

Boyd claims she sustained injuries to her neck, back, shoulders, arm and abdomen.

The plaintiff alleges Brodecker failed to keep his eyes on the road, failed to exercise proper control of his vehicle and failed to take evasive actions to avoid the collision.

Boyd seeks trial by jury, damages not less than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Allan L. Napp of Schrempf, Kelly & Napp Ltd. in Alton.
