Car accident 38

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims he was injured when another driver caused a collision.

Billy Carrington and Sheri Carrington filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jessica Depew and Shakari Liner, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Feb. 13, 2017, Billy Carrington was driving his GM Sierra in a safe manner when it was violently struck by the defendants' vehicle.

Carrington claims he sustained injuries both internally and externally and was caused to suffer anxiety, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The plaintiffs allege Depew failed to exercise reasonable care and caution in operating a motor vehicle, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to reduce speed or stop the vehicle to avoid a collision. They also allege Liner negligently entrusted the vehicle she was selling to Depaw, an irresponsible driver.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this action. They are represented by Edward W. Unsell, Fred Patrick Schuman and Joshua R. Evans of The Unsell Law Firm PC in East Alton.
