Car accident 14

BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a Randolph County collision.

Stephen Conley filed a complaint on Jan. 2 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Patrick A. Gerolds, alleging he carelessly drove his vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable.

According to the complaint, Conley alleges that on Aug. 5, 2018, he was involved in a collision with the defendant's vehicle on State Route 4, approximately 300 feet north of its intersection with State Route 13 in Randolph County.

Conley claims he suffered severe and disabling injuries to his back, head, neck and shoulders.

The plaintiff holds Gerolds responsible because he allegedly failed to keep proper lookout and failed to properly apply brakes to avoid striking the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Bernard J. Ysursa of Ysursa Law Offices LLP in Belleville.
