EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a collision while attempting to turn on to state Route 203 in Madison County.

Charles Clifton filed a complaint Jan. 3 in Madison County Circuit Court against Benny Forsyth, alleging the defendant negligently operated his vehicle while distracted.

According to the complaint, on March 1, 2017, Clifton was driving his vehicle at the intersection of Harrison Road and state Route 203 in Madison County when Forsyth allegedly caused a collision.

Clifton claims he suffered injuries that resulted in pain, disability, disfigurement and loss of earnings, all in excess of $50,000.

The plaintiff alleges Forsyth failed to yield the right of way and negligently turned left from Harrison Road on to state Route 203, causing his vehicle to crash into the vehicle driven by the plaintiff.

Clifton seeks trial by jury, judgment greater than $50,000, plus curt costs and all other appropriate legal remedies. He is represented by attorney Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
