Pedestrian alleges driver ran her over

Lawsuits

EDWARDSVILLE — A Granite City pedestrian is suing a motorist she claims ran her over.

Cheryl D. Wiley filed a complaint Dec. 17 in Madison County Circuit Court against Kendra M. Moran, alleging the driver failed to exercise due care and caution for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 14, 2016, Wiley was lawfully walking on Madison Avenue at its intersection of 21st Street in Granite City when Moran's 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan struck her. Wiley says she sustained severe and permanent injuries to her shoulder, neck and back and was caused to incur damages in excess of $50,000.

The plaintiff alleges Moran negligently and carelessly operated her vehicle so as to strike Wiley.

Wiley seeks trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Larry Calvo of Callis, Papa & Szewczyk PC in Granite City.
