EDWARDSVILLE — A patient is suing Granite City health care providers for allegedly failing to diagnose her condition.
Veronica Walker filed a complaint on Dec. 10, in the Madison County Circuit Court against Gateway Regional Medical Center, Dr. Kent Arnold, et al,, alleging failure to diagnose an ischemic stroke in a patient with clear neurological abnormalities.
According to the complaint, Walker claims she suffered an ischemic stroke after the defendants failed to administer a thrombolytic agent and other interventional modalities that could have detected her condition.
As a result, Walker claims she is in constant pain and suffering, lost her enjoyment of life and incurred large sums of money for medical and hospital treatment and experienced loss of earnings.
Walker seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Joseph A. Bartholomew of Cook, Bartholomew, Shevlin & Cook LLP in Belleville.
