BELLEVILLE — An insurer is suing a motorist for allegedly causing a collision and refusing to make payments.
Allstate Fire & Casualty Insurance Company, a/s/o Anthony D. Bova and Lisa Lutes, filed a complaint on Dec. 6 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Brandon Schantz, alleging he failed to operate his vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 21, 2016, Bova and Lutes suffered significant damage to their vehicle following a collision with Schantz. The suit also alleges Bova suffered injuries in the crash.
Allstate claims it became obligated to pay Bova and Lutes in the amount of $3,240.70 for the damaged vehicle and $100,000 for medical bills.
The plaintiff holds Schantz responsible because despite demand for payments, the defendant failed and continues to refuse to make payments.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $103,240.70, plus costs. It is represented by Michael S. Bain of The CKB Firm in Chicago.
