Motorist sues over Alton crash

Lawsuits
Car accident 11

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing an Alton collision.

Dena R. Lewis filed a complaint on Dec. 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Teresa K. Ferguson, alleging she negligently drove her vehicle at an excessive speed.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 15, 2016, she was operating a vehicle at the intersection of Homer Adams Parkway and Bloomer Drive in Alton when Ferguson allegedly caused a collision.

Lewis claims she suffered injuries to her neck, head, and left shoulder.

The plaintiff holds Ferguson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout and failed to reduce speed or stop to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for a sum exceeding $50,000, plus all other relief that is proper and just. She is represented by Rodney D. Caffey and Ralph J. Mendelsohn of The Caffey Law Firm LLC in Godfrey.
