Motorist sued over Sauget crash

BELLEVILLE — A motorist and passenger are suing a driver for allegedly causing a Sauget collision. 

Joyce Foster and Barry Bevely filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Johnny Banda, alleging he breached his duty to exercise reasonable care while operating his motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 1, 2016, they were in a vehile near the MootMart parking lot in Sauget when Banda allegedly caused a collision while driving a pickup truck. 

Foster and Bevely claim they sustained injuries and will continue to suffer partial disability, pain and suffering and medical expenses. 

The plaintiffs allege Banda failed to keep proper lookout, negligently backed his vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable and failed to avoid the collision.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs. They are represented by Jack A. Srellis of Strellis & Field in Waterloo.
