BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver and his insurer following a head-on collision.
Darnell Steward filed a complaint on Nov. 27 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Unique Insurance Co. and Milton Yates Jr., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 7, 2017, he was operating his vehicle at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and 21st Street when Yates caused a head-on collision.
Steward claims he sustained injuries to his left toe, left hand and wrist, lower back and shoulders.
The plaintiff alleges Yates violated traffic laws while driving and Unique failed to provide coverage for the plaintiff's damages.
The plaintiff seeks damages in a fair and reasonable amount between $25,000 and $75,000, plus attorney's fees, costs and all other relief that is just and proper. He is represented by Celestine Dotson of Law Office of Celestine Dotson in St. Louis.
