BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision in Swansea.

Jasper Dunn filed a complaint on Nov. 27 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against D'Marco C. Baker, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 21, 2017, he was traveling on N. Belt West at or near its intersection with 17th Street in Swansea when Baker allegedly struck the rear of Dunn's vehicle.

Dunn claims he sustained extensive injuries to his head, body and limbs and incurred medical expenses and other damages.

The plaintiff holds Baker responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout, followed his vehicle more closely and failed to properly apply brakes.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by John H. Hustava of John Hustava in Collinsville.
