BELLEVILLE—A patron is suing Schatze's Sports Bar & Grill after another patron allegedly punched her in the face.
Jessica Sydow filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Schatze's Sports Bar & Grill Inc. and Gary Evans, alleging they failed to provide a safe environment.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 11, 2016, she was a patron at Schatze's Sports Bar & Grill when Evans punched her twice in the face.
She claims she sustained injuries to numerous parts of her body and has incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant breached its duty to ensure the safety of its patrons inside its premises and failed to act with reasonable care.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs and all other relief that is just and proper. She is represented by Reed C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson Attorneys at Law PC in Belleville.
