BELLEVILLE — A property owner is suing a subcontractor alleging he suffered eye injuries when a tube of caulk fell and hit him.

Stephen Harris filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Germantown Seamless Guttering Inc., alleging the defendant failed to perform work in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 15, he was walking on the premises when he was hit in the right eye by a tube of caulk that fell to the ground.

As a result, Harris claims he suffered retinal detachment and other eye injuries.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant's employee/agent failed to properly secure the tube of caulk to prevent it from falling.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by George P. Ripplinger of Ripplinger & Zimmer LLC in Belleville.
