BENTON — The federal government alleges Marion homeowners failed to make payments on a loan.
The U.S. government filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against Michael R. Donohue, Sean Donohue, et al., alleging breach of mortgage agreement.
The federal government alleges that on Oct. 30, 1996, Susan Becker and the estate of Michael Donohue mortgaged a property located at 201 Dunston Street in Marion to Rural Housing Service for $48,000. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay monthly installments of principal, interest, taxes, and/or insurance since July 2013.
As of Aug. 7, the total amount now due is $76,790.77.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment to foreclosure and sale of the subject property, plus attorney’s fees, costs, and expenses and such other relief as equity may be required.
The U.S. government is represented by Steven D. Weinhoeft and Adam E. Hanna of United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois in Fairview Heights.
